A first in workplace giving – donating on your mobile anytime, anywhere

As reported by Pro Bono News, not-for-profit Good2Give’s Workplace Giving Platform is now available to thousands of employees via mobile – making it possible to donate pre-tax anytime, anywhere.

“When it comes to making donations, people want it to be quick and easy, they want choice in who they give to, and they want the technology to do so at their fingertips,” said Good2Give CEO Lisa Grinham.

“We’ve listened to the market and believe the latest suit of improvements to our online platform will boost workplace giving donations in Australia and New Zealand. The last 12 months have seen a 50 per cent increase in Good2Give’s workplace giving. This trend is only going to continue with these platform advancements eliminating barriers and providing incentives to come back.

“The platform can now showcase multiple charities for a specific company-driven appeal, which encourages employees to rally behind the same issue while also having the opportunity to support a charity that resonates with them personally. It’s a great feature especially in building optimal support for disaster appeals when funds are needed most.

“Employees can also now see which charities are trending among colleagues, how many work mates are donating, and the collective contribution they’re all having. And think about all those charity morning teas – staff can now make a donation on their phone rather than donating gold coins. It not only takes away the hassle of handling money from staff fundraisers, but means employees gain the tax benefits for their donation immediately.”

Good2Give said the platform had been advanced by the work and cooperation of the ACNC in providing access to credible and navigable charity data. “Working with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) means we can now provide sophisticated search functionality more efficiently. Employees can search for charities by size and cause area consistent with national standards,” Grinham said.

ACNC Commissioner Susan Pascoe said, “Workplace giving eliminates the need for charities to issue individual tax receipts thus reducing overall administration costs. We applaud Good2Give’s ability to consolidate donations received from thousands of donors each month to further reduce administration costs of this giving model for charities.”

Grinham adds, “It’s vital that we all start talking more about how we give to build a stronger culture of giving in Australia and New Zealand. Whether that’s through our workplaces or through sharing our charity support among friends and family on Twitter and Facebook, we’re excited to see how advancing the online workplace giving experience can revitalise a wider culture of giving in our communities.”
