#28WaystoGive | Buy a keep cup
We could use a good cup of coffee. And we’ll be getting ours in a keep cup – how about you?
There are around 500 billion disposable coffee cups produced each year and, according to KeepCup, “one million cups a minute, every hour of every day, of every year” are discarded to become landfill around the world. Many have been found to contain plastics that do not break down and cannot be recycled.
In Australia, it is estimated that over two million disposable coffee cups are thrown away every single day – also destined for landfill. There has to be a better way.
But I loooove my coffee
You can keep feeding your coffee addiction without harming the environment: Just buy a Keep Cup. According to the University of Melbourne, using a Keep Cup can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to a huge 92% over one year.
Where to get reusable coffee cups
