Compassion is an international Christian child development and advocacy organisation. Through our Child Sponsorship Program, more than 2 million children are currently being released from poverty. With over six decades of experience, we are one of the largest international child development organisations and top fundraising charities in Australia.The impact of poverty looks different for each child, so we work with local partners in 25 developing countries who understand the needs of their communities. The sponsorship program meets the specific economic, socio-emotional, physical and spiritual needs of children so they can be known, loved and protected. Children are given the opportunity to receive education, healthcare and the encouragement needed to be socially confident and, ultimately, economically self-supporting.Our partnerships are built on integrity, trust and accountability. In 2018, Compassion was awarded 100 out of 100 by Charity Navigator, the USAs largest charityevaluator, for accountability and transparency.
