How does Good2Give work with companies?

Good2Give provides technology, financial and advisory services to socially and environmentally responsible businesses. We work with corporate social responsibility, employee engagement and human resources teams, and corporate foundations, to make corporate community investment and giving easy, effective and efficient.

Read about the services we provide to companies, for the benefit of charities and the community sector.

What is Good2Give’s Workplace Giving Platform?

Good2Give’s Workplace Giving Platform enables employees to make pre-tax donations to DGR-registered charities direct from their pay.

Are Workplace Giving donations eligible for tax receipts?

Good2Give Workplace Giving donations don’t require tax receipts as they are pre-tax donations. This means the donations come out of your donor’s salary before tax, reducing your donor’s taxable income. As such, the donor receives the tax benefit at time of being paid by their employer.

See our Tax Calculator for an illustration.

This is in line with the Australian Taxation Office’s expectation of conduct.

Why do charities use the Good2Give’s Workplace Giving Platform?

Reduce your admin time

Receive regular monthly donations via EFT which combines donations from multiple companies and donors.

Tap into company matched giving

Through the Good2Give Workplace Giving Platform, companies can maximise the expression of goodwill by matching employee donations – meaning charities have the opportunity to receive more!  Over 70% of companies on the Good2Give Workplace Giving Platform match their employees’ donations.

Access younger donors

Attract and engage a younger donor base. According to data from More Strategic, 74 per cent of donors in Australia are part of an older population, between 50 – 74 years of age. When it comes to workplace givers, some 69 per cent are aged between 18 – 49 years. (Source: Good2Give Workplace Givers Revealed Research).

Access comprehensive reports

About your donor giving, easily downloadable in to CSV or excel.

Communicate with your donors

Via a personalized ‘Thank You’ message and ‘Regular Update’ messages, through the platform.  Our Workplace Givers Revealed Research showed that 4 in 5 Workplace Givers want to know what impact their donation has.  You can tell donors this through your communication.  The research also showed that those who recall receiving correspondence from their charity were more favourable towards the charity and in turn had higher donation levels.

Which charities are eligible to join the Good2Give Workplace Giving Platform?

Australian charities must hold ‘Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) 1 status’ or ‘DGR 2 status’. This is verified on the Australian Business Register’s ABN Lookup.

In New Zealand, the charity must be a registered Donee organisation to be eligible for Workplace Giving.

What is the Annual Management Charge for Charities on the Good2Give Workplace Giving Platform?

There is an Annual Management Charge applicable to charities, that contributes towards technical maintenance, upgrade and administration of the platform. We have a tiered structure, designed to enable smaller charities an opportunity to build funds at the entry level, before incurring the charge.

We reinvest the fees to provide best-in-class giving, corporate and donor engagement technology and services for the benefit of businesses, donors and charities. It helps ensure we can maintain and build enhancements across our platform, so we can keep building and growing the volume of funds granted to charity sector.

The Annual Management Charge is charged annually, due by 31 January for that calendar year. For your convenience, here are our terms and conditions, which includes the Annual Management Charge tiered table.

Can individuals sign up to become Workplace Giving Donors to our charity?

Individuals who are employees can become a Workplace Giving donor to your charity.  Members of the public cannot donate through the Good2Give Workplace Giving Platform (however, they can fundraise for you).  Employees of companies registered with Good2Give are eligible to donate to you. Scroll to the base of this (or any) page, where you will find a rolling list of companies registered on our platform.

Are there any processing costs?

Good2Give charges monthly administration fees for processing donations.  However, 99 per cent of donations are delivered to recipient charities, due to the majority of our clients picking up these fees.  In the rare instance that our corporate client does not pay the administration fee, this fee is deducted from donations before these donations are passed on to the charity. These fees are also listed in the monthly donation remittance advice you receive for transparency.

Does Good2Give provide charities with corporate contacts to increase our Workplace Giving donations?

As we are an intermediary, we do not act as advocates on your behalf, nor do we provide corporate contacts to increase workplace giving for your charity.

The bottom of each page on our website has a rolling list of businesses that Good2Give works with, across our four areas of service to companies: Workplace Giving, Advisory work, Grants Management and Management of Foundation Accounts. Just scroll to the base of the page to view this list. Consistent with all charity business development and fundraising strategy, your relationship with these companies will influence whether they promote you to their staff as a charitable partner.  Our corporate clients very rarely give their permission for us to share their details with the 2000+ charities on the platform.  Please use your existing corporate community relationship and business development channels to build these relationships.

What is Fundraising at Work?

Good2Give and GoFundraise have commenced a joint venture to grow giving through the two platforms. Employees can make pre- and post-tax donations, create fundraising pages with instant dollar matching and reporting that tracks it all.

Charities benefit from the energy of people raising awareness and drumming up financial support for the causes they care about. Charities are introduced to new supporters, increase the awareness of the important issues they represent, and can fund the programs that make a positive difference in the world.

Benefits:

  • Raise more for your cause by unlocking new funds from corporates
  • Allow fundraising donations to be matched by corporates easily
  • We anticipate that we can increase the average raised from a corporate fundraiser from $700 to $1,000 through matching or to $1400 if the total fundraised is matched.
  • Extend the reach of your fundraising activity into workplaces across Australia and New Zealand
  • Please see Fundraising at Work for more information. This includes a short video.
