Giving Resolution #9

Make time for Family, Hang with your Clan

As holiday season arrives and we catch up with family, we remember how important our loved ones are. And we are important to them too – even after the annual board game squabble.

Making more time for family is a great resolution, but it’s an easy one to break. We know our family will always understand if we cancel that brunch because we double booked, or if we rearrange that BBQ because of our work project.

This year, give yourself more incentive than a slice of your Nan’s famous apple pie – help your family members with their chores, for no other reason than to make them smile.

Pick up the groceries for your Mum, go green in your Uncle’s garden, or you could even cook up a feast for the entire family.

You’ll help your grandparents feel more social, make your Mum proud, and create a closer connection between you and your loved ones.

Get out your diary and start setting dates to put family and your happy nest first.

Here’s some ideas to get you started.

  • Clean the house.
  • Help book a holiday.
  • Take the dog for a walk.
  • Water the plants.
  • Do the laundry.
  • Host a BBQ.
  • Clear out the loft.
  • Do the groceries.
  • Mow the lawn.
  • Have a conversation.
  • Garden together.
  • Paint a room.
  • Host a family garage sale.
  • Babysit for your sister/brother/cousin.
