It’s the start of the festive season and soon we will all be on our merry way to office parties, buying desktop basketball secret Santas, enjoying (or enduring!) family gatherings and easing into well-earned break.
However you choose to celebrate the end of 2017, everyone at Good2Give wishes you a safe and happy holiday. We say thank you for your generosity throughout the year and look forward to working with you to invest in the Australian charity sector through giving in 2018.
Our New Year resolutions include advancing our vision of delivering $300 million to charitable communities by 2020 – and to provide even more opportunities for businesses and their employees to invest in making a positive social and environmental impact.
Our Christmas Charity Appeals are live, and there are more than 40 to choose from so you can spread some festive cheer by supporting one (or more) of these charities through workplace giving. Read our blog for a list of charity Christmas appeals on our platform.
28 Days of Giving Challenge
Thanks to everyone who participated in our 28 Days of Giving Challenge, which ran through November in the lead up to #GivingTuesday. We had a great response and hope you’ve been inspired to give in many small (and big) ways. You can visit our Facebook page to see which two participants were able to nominate their charities of choice to receive $200. If you are one of our corporate clients and you would like to run a 28-day challenge (or a 10-day challenge) in the future, speak with your Client Relations Manager. We are happy to customise this campaign for your company’s needs and promote your achievements through our social media channels. You could also do this in collaboration with your charity partners.
My business trip to the USA
What have I been up to lately? Well, I had a busy start to November with a trip to the USA to meet with clients, the US Federal Government who have a powerful centralised workplace giving program, the Foundation Center, Pledge 1%, CAF America and attend the International Women’s Forum conference in Houston, of which I’m a Board director in Australia. What I took away from my whirlwind tour was the cross-sectoral focus on social and environmental impact, and how embracing giving as a way of life cuts through every facet of the American workforce. It was inspirational.
2017 LBG Conference on Corporate Community Investment
Straight back to thought leadership in Australia, and we were proud to be a supporting partner of the 2017 LBG Conference on Corporate Community Investment in a fast changing world. Some of our clients took to the podium to talk through their exemplary approach to tackling some of Australia’s most challenging social issues, and of course the big reveal was the 2017 LBG Review – which you can read here. I am heartened to see the evolution and continued innovation from businesses in how they marry their commercial and community strategies, and we look forward to providing our clients with even more solutions that will bring this to life in the coming year.
New Year Giving Resolutions
You can kick off 2018 with our 10 New Year Giving Resolutions – live on 31 January – and we’ll be rallying support for Back to School programs.
Thank you to everyone who has played a part in building a more giving society this year. No matter how much or how little you give, whether you’re a global corporate brand, donating $5 each month or simply spreading the word on how to give – we are grateful you are a part of the movement for generosity.
Celebrating all of you this Christmas, and wishing you a very happy new year in 2018.
